Upon arrival, our experienced driver will whisk you away to our beautiful 4-star hotel, your home away from home in Sierra Leone. The first day of your Sierra Leone adventure is all about relaxation. After your journey, you deserve some time to unwind and soak in the surroundings.

 

In the evening, Queenie & Lisa invite you to join the rest of the group for a formal meet and greet cocktail hour. The dress code for the evening is GREEN. Following the meet and greet, indulge your taste buds in a delectable welcome dinner hosted by Queenie & Lisa, our gracious hosts who know Sierra Leone very well and has a few surprises for you! If you aren’t too tired from your long journey you’ll get to experience a taste of the nightlife that Freetown has to offer.

In the heart of the city, these markets offer a kaleidoscope of colors, textures, and aromas. Immerse yourself in the lively atmosphere as you explore stalls adorned with jewelry, traditional African print clothing, unique souvenirs, and stylish handbags. This is your chance to indulge in authentic Sierra Leonean crafts, each item telling a story of the local culture and craftsmanship.

 

But the day doesn’t stop there. Prepare to unleash your creativity in a traditional tie-dye class, a popular art form in Sierra Leone. Under the guidance of skilled artisans, you'll learn the intricate techniques of tie-dye, creating your own vibrant masterpiece to take home as a cherished memento of your journey.

 

At night, and after some rest, get ready to experience the energy of Sierra Leone's nightlife. A sun-soaked adventure at one of the country's most stunning white sand beaches. Our Sankofa Experience DJ sets the scene, filling the air with infectious rhythms of afrobeats and dancehall music, turning the beach into your private dance floor.

The day unfolds with a burst of competitive energy as we dive into our Sankofa Experience Beach Olympics. Adding to the cultural delight, local dancers and TikTok stars take the stage, offering a firsthand lesson in Sierra Leonean dance. Feel the beat, learn the moves, and immerse yourself in the vibrant heritage of Sierra Leone, capturing these lively moments to cherish forever. Day 4 - November 4, 2024

Invites you to delve into the country's rich history with a visit to the iconic Bunce Island. Bunce Island stands as a poignant reminder of the region's complex past. Once a significant hub in the transatlantic slave trade, this historical site bears witness to centuries of human stories, both heartbreaking and resilient. Adorned in exquisite Sierra Leonean traditional cloth, you'll be embraced by the community, making this ceremony a moment of profound connection and understanding.**
