Six Senses Zil Pasyon: Where Honeymoon Dreams Become Reality in Seychelles

When Billy and I started planning our honeymoon, we knew we wanted something extraordinary. Not just beautiful, though that was non-negotiable, but truly transformative. A place where luxury felt effortless, where time moved differently and where we could simply be together without the noise of the world creeping in.

We found all of that and more at Six Senses Zil Pasyon in Seychelles.

Tucked away on the private island of Félicité in the Indian Ocean, this isn't just a resort—it's a sanctuary. After spending our first days as husband and wife there, I can confidently say it's one of the most spectacular properties I've ever experienced.

Arriving in Paradise: The Helicopter Moment

Our Six Senses experience began before we even touched down. We arrived by private helicopter from Mahé and watching the granite boulders and turquoise water of Félicité Island come into view is a moment I'll never forget. The island looked like something out of a dream, lush green hills dotted with massive granite formations, surrounded by water so clear you could see the coral reefs from the air.

Landing on a private island for your honeymoon? That's the kind of arrival that sets the tone for everything that follows.

The Villas: Private Sanctuaries in the Sky

Six Senses Zil Pasyon has only 30 pool villas and residences scattered across the island's dramatic landscape, which means privacy is practically guaranteed. Our villa was perched on a hillside, offering panoramic views of the Indian Ocean that took our breath away every single morning.

What made our villa special:

Floor-to-ceiling windows that blurred the line between indoors and outdoors, we woke up to sunrise over the ocean without leaving bed.

A private infinity pool that seemed to spill directly into the sea. We spent hours floating in that pool, cocktails in hand, watching the sky change colors.

An outdoor rain shower surrounded by tropical plants and granite boulders. Showering under the open sky became one of our favorite daily rituals.

Thoughtful design that balanced luxury with sustainability, natural materials, open-air spaces and technology that enhanced rather than distracted from the experience.

The villa wasn't just accommodation; it was our private world. We could be completely secluded when we wanted, yet world-class dining, spa treatments and activities were just a call away.

Honeymoon Days Done Right: The Art of Doing Nothing

Here's what we learned at Six Senses: we planned nothing… and somehow it was perfect.

There's something magical about a place that allows you to completely let go. No rigid itineraries. No FOMO about missing activities. Just us, the ocean and time moving exactly how it should.

Some days we'd wake up early and kayak to a secluded beach for a private breakfast prepared by the resort's chef. Other days we'd sleep in, order room service and spend the entire afternoon in our infinity pool. We'd take sunset walks along the beach, discovering new coves and granite formations. We'd have dinner under the stars at one of the resort's restaurants, then return to our villa to fall asleep to the sound of waves.

This is what I call soft life honeymoon energy, luxury, intention and traveling without rushing through the moments.

Dining: Farm-to-Table Meets Indian Ocean Fresh

Six Senses takes dining seriously and it shows. The resort has its own organic garden where they grow herbs, vegetables and fruits used in the restaurants. The seafood is caught daily by local fishermen. The result? Every meal felt fresh, flavorful and connected to the island.

Highlights from our culinary experience:

Breakfast on our villa deck with fresh tropical fruit, pastries and the best coffee we had in Seychelles.

Sunset cocktails at the Ocean Kitchen Bar, where the bartenders crafted drinks using herbs from the garden.

A private beach dinner under the stars, just the two of us, a table set in the sand, waves lapping at the shore and a multi-course meal that showcased Creole flavors with a modern twist.

The resort also offers cooking classes and wine tastings, though we were too blissed out to do anything that required effort. Next time, perhaps.

The Spa: Hilltop Healing

The Six Senses Spa sits atop the island's highest point, offering 360-degree views of the Indian Ocean. We booked couples' massages in one of the open-air treatment rooms and it was pure magic: the sound of birds and waves, the ocean breeze and skilled therapists who seemed to know exactly where we were holding tension.

The spa uses organic products and incorporates local ingredients like coconut, vanilla and tropical botanicals. After our treatment, we spent an hour in the relaxation area, sipping herbal tea and watching the sun dip toward the horizon.

Pro tip: Book your spa treatments for late afternoon so you can watch the sunset from the hilltop. It's unforgettable.

Island Hopping and Marine Adventures

While we loved doing nothing, Six Senses also offers incredible experiences for when you're ready to explore. The resort arranged private boat excursions for us to nearby islands, where we snorkeled with sea turtles, explored hidden beaches and had gourmet picnics on deserted shores.

The marine life around Félicité is extraordinary, vibrant coral reefs, tropical fish in every color imaginable and if you're lucky (we were!), manta rays gliding gracefully through the water. The resort's marine biologists lead snorkeling and diving excursions, sharing insights about the delicate ecosystem and conservation efforts.

Sustainability Meets Luxury

One of the things I appreciated most about Six Senses Zil Pasyon is how seamlessly they integrate sustainability into the luxury experience. The resort has its own water bottling plant (eliminating plastic waste), an organic garden, solar panels and comprehensive recycling programs. They're deeply committed to marine conservation and work closely with local communities.

You never feel like you're sacrificing comfort for sustainability—it's simply woven into every aspect of the experience. This is luxury travel done right: indulgent, intentional and responsible.

Why Six Senses Changed How I Think About Honeymoons

Before Six Senses, I thought honeymoons were about checking off bucket-list experiences and filling every day with activities. What I learned on Félicité Island is that the best honeymoons are about presence, being fully present with your partner, with nature and with the moment.

Six Senses Zil Pasyon gave us the space, privacy and beauty to simply be together. No distractions. No rushing. Just two newlyweds falling even more in love with each other and the world around us.

If soft life luxury is your vibe, if you value intention over itinerary, quality over quantity and moments over milestones, Six Senses Zil Pasyon is calling your name.

Planning Your Six Senses Experience

How to Get There: Fly into Mahé (Seychelles International Airport), then take a private helicopter or boat transfer to Félicité Island (arranged by the resort).

How Long to Stay: I recommend a minimum of 5-7 nights to truly unwind and experience the island's magic.

Best Time to Visit: April-May and October-November offer the calmest seas and best weather, though Seychelles is beautiful year-round.

Investment: Six Senses Zil Pasyon is a luxury property with rates starting around $1,500-$3,000+ per night, depending on villa category and season. Many packages include meals, activities and transfers.

Who It's For: Honeymooners, couples celebrating milestones and anyone seeking privacy, natural beauty and world-class service in one of the world's most exclusive settings.

Your Six Senses Story Awaits

Six Senses Zil Pasyon isn't just a hotel, it's an experience that stays with you long after you've left. It's the kind of place that resets your soul, deepens your connection with your partner and reminds you what luxury truly means.

Ready to plan your own Six Senses escape? Whether it's a honeymoon, anniversary, or simply because you deserve it, I'd love to help you create a Seychelles experience as magical as ours.
