BOHEMIAN SAVANNAH HOTEL

What they say about Southern hospitality is true, and nowhere is that more evident than at the Bohemian Savannah Hotel in the heart of Georgia’s oldest city. This was my first time visiting the charming city of Savannah, and I had an amazing time exploring and learning all about the unique history and culture of this southern gem. As a fan of boutique hotels, the Bohemian Savannah was the perfect home away from home for me for my 3-night stay.

Located in the heart of Downtown, a short 20-minute drive from the airport, the Bohemian Savannah boutique hotel has something for everyone. Nestled between cobblestone streets and the historic riverfront district, there are incredible views to be had from every room. Whether you choose the historic view accommodations for a view overlooking the historic district or you go for the river view rooms so you can sit and watch the Savannah River roll by, you are promised a view to remember. Check-in with a glass of champagne and make yourself comfortable in a room decorated with vintage-modern sophistication, furniture that is art in its own right, and carefully curated soft furnishings that look and feel luxurious.

The view is not the only thing this boutique hotel has to offer - not even close! Unbeatable luxury amenities, old-fashioned charm, and impeccable southern hospitality are a feature of the Bohemian Savannah. Walk into the reception, and you find yourself greeted by gorgeous original art pieces and the very best hospitality the South has to offer. With all the amenities you’d expect from a much larger city hotel, the Bohemian Savannah has you covered with free wi-fi throughout, an exclusive guest fitness center, laundry, dry cleaning, and guest request services. Don’t forget to take advantage of their complimentary shuttle service to Forsyth Park and the Savannah Plant Riverside District for some sightseeing as well.

Inside, the historic rooms are decorated with striking oyster shell chandeliers, beautiful custom-carved vanities, marble bathrooms, and custom beds with luxury matelassé bed linens. The furnishings are luxurious and comfortable, with sophisticated style at every turn, and original artworks that speak to the history and culture of Savannah and surrounding areas adorn the walls of every room. Every space is designed to help bring the essence of Savannah from outside the hotel into your room, and it is hard not to get swept away in the southern charm of it all.

Outside of your room, go all the way to the top of the hotel and step out into the rooftop bar, Rocks on the Roof, and take in the captivating views of the Savannah River with some light bites and cold drinks, or dine downstairs at the Rocks on the River (**Rocks on the River is being rebranded to Coastal 15- See more details at the end of my blog) restaurant for classic and delicious American dishes and a unique blend of culture, art, and cuisine that showcases the best of Savannah on a plate. There are private dining spaces available for reservation, and with a new restaurant scheduled to open in early 2024, the Bohemian Savannah covers all of your dining needs without even leaving the hotel.

When you do leave the hotel, head down to the Stone & Webster Chophouse on the riverside. Trust me when I tell you, you will not be mad you went. Between the open kitchen and the booth-style dining, you will find a vibe that fits your mood here, and the cuisine is delicious! In true chophouse style, the steaks on the menu are cooked to perfection, but for a lighter meal, the seafood is second to none. I had the tuna crudo, the she crab bisque with blue crab, trinity, roe and sherry, and the wagyu steak frites with chimichurri and pomme frites, and I would do it all again! Set inside the historic Savannah power plant, the architecture here is rustic, but the sleek design of the space provides a modern and sophisticated dining experience you will remember!

The Bohemian Savannah Hotel is truly a southern gem, but the true jewel in the crown is the people who work there. From the front desk and concierge to the dining staff and the bartenders, every single staff member made sure to provide that famous southern hospitality, and they elevated the Bohemian Savannah experience from exceptional to exquisite. Be sure to stay with them on your next visit to this Georgian peach of a city and experience it for yourself.
